A little story about our Chef/Owner

Chef Curtis’ philosophy about food is as simple as that of all good cuisine: “Use the best seasonal ingredients available and don’t screw it up in the kitchen”. Thus inspiring the Union City Grille credo “Food that tastes the way it should”.

Matt started working in kitchens, like many other chefs, at a very young age. And despite acquiring a degree in marketing, his passion for creating has kept him in the kitchen for over 20 years. Chef Matt has performed cooking segments for live television as well as demonstrations at the popular Kennett Square Mushroom Festival. He has consulted for over 60 live television cooking segments and donated time to several local community events.

This vast background helped set the stage for his current venture. Chef Curtis purchased the Union City Grille on September 12, 2008. Preceding settlement he worked diligently on a business plan with a focus on refining the existing reputation, marketing the refined theme and procedures for instilling his Restaurant philosophy. The menus have been revised with truly hand made pasta, fresh fish, and exciting new appetizers. Wilmington’s tastiest Steaks still remain. UCG is refining on a daily basis and wish to include all of you in this on going process.
